Roundtrip Vancouver
We chose this cruise because it’s a small ship. We enjoyed the Greek cruise on a more relaxed small ship a couple years ago. We hope to do something similar without having to fly to Europe. We especially like that we can get into ports we’ve never been to before. We’re looking forward to seeing bears in Wrangell, Russian heritage in Sitka, native culture in Icy Strait and Klawock, scenery, wildlife and glaciers everywhere.

This is one of the most prolific salmon rivers in Alaska. And the bears know it. A limited number of people can come in here and watch the bears from the blind seen in the lower right. Getting here requires a long boat ride and a hike led in a tight group by guides with guns and bear spray.
Luckily only a little drizzle. We made it! No salmon. No bears. Well, it was a wonderful boat ride among the steep and forested islands and a great hike through this forest.
